Amanda "Panda" Parkhurst is the Creatress of Music and Magic Maine dedicated to providing musical instruments and creative opportunities to children in Maine since 2009.  She is a homeschooling mother, teacher, nanny, and performer of original songs and movement.  Amanda currently teaches musical yoga at Waynflete Academy, Gorham Co-operative Preschool and has performed in the past at the Common Ground County Fair and the Coastal Children's Museum. She is involved in the local community with organizing Willard Fest in South Portland and participates in the Arts Day at Pond Cove School in Cape Elizabeth. She is also responsible for Tahntay! Portland's annual spring parade and celebration at the Eastern Promenade.
Amanda's music and movement revolve around themes of nature, friendship, and silliness, and promote healthy, peaceful living.  Most of her songs were created at home with her children Dylan and Garcia.  Her performances are always all ages and fully participatory.  Animal noises and running wild are as important at her show as sitting calmly and breathing and families can expect the full range and balance with Amanda Panda running the show.
Her last show was a part of the "Kids are Alright" music series at the Maine Academy of Modern Music and featured a guest appearance by Emilia Dahlin who sang Amanda Panda's Song "Fill Your Cup"
